Bill Gates steps down from Microsoft board to serve humanity


Microsoft on Friday announced that 64 Years old co-founder Bill Gates has left its board of directors to spend more time on his philanthropic endeavors. Gates co-founded Microsoft in 1975 with Paul Allen, who died in 2018. Gates is among Microsoft’s top shareholders, owning 1.36% of shares, according to Fact Set.
In a press conference The chief executive officer of Microsoft, Satya Nadela Release “It’s been a tremendous honor and privilege to have worked with and learned from Bill over the years.

Gate Said' "With respect to Microsoft, stepping down from the board in no way means stepping away from the company, “Microsoft will always be an important part of my life’s work and I will continue to be engaged with Satya and the technical leadership to help shape the vision and achieve the company’s ambitious goals. I feel more optimistic than ever about the progress the company is making and how it can continue to benefit the world.”


Gate was the Director of the Board of Microsoft till 2014 but he started spending his more time on his charitable foundation in 2008 which was Melinda Gates Foundation.
